Our Exceptional Deep Sea Fishing Charters

Fishing Trips

Private and shared trips are available daily. Aside from full-day, ¾-day, and ½-day private or shared trips, we schedule special trips to support research projects, films, movies, and more.

Daily deep-sea fishing charters depart at 6:00 AM from Kewalo Basin, conveniently located next to Waikiki in Oahu. Just bring your food and drinks for the day because fishing tackle, gear, and licenses are already included in your package.

We welcome both seasoned anglers and even those with no previous fishing experience for the adventure of a lifetime. Our daily morning briefing covers all the safety and sport fishing details to get you ready for that first bite!

Sunset Cruises

At Five Star Sportfishing, we are experts in local Hawaii fishing, and we also know how to have a good time. Oahu has a beautiful landscape and breathtaking scenery, which is best seen via the sea. Diamond Head Crater, Waikiki city lights, and colorful sunsets are a daily sight.

From November through March, humpback whales migrate to Hawaii to birth to their young. These gentle giants are often sighted breaching just off the Waikiki and Diamond Head area in Oahu, Hawaii. Pods of spinner dolphins frequent the area year-round.

Friday nights are a wonderful time to head out with weekly sailboat races with the Friday night fireworks as a special treat! It’s always a front-row seat to the firework show offshore of Waikiki.

During sunset cruises, make sure to “BYOB” or bring your own beverage. Prepare your camera for the views and capture scenic shots. Have a romantic evening for two or a party for up to six passengers. Cocktail cruise rates are $250 per hour (minimum of two hours) for groups of up to six. We will customize your evening adventure just call or e-mail us with your special plan.

Spreading of Ashes

The Five Star Sportfishing staff consists of dedicated fishermen and mariners. We offer the spreading of ashes to honor and celebrate loved ones who have departed. Departure from Kewalo Basin Harbor is between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM, heading offshore of Diamond Head Crater. You may also request a different location if you have one in mind.

We know all the customs and traditions for a proper mariner’s send-off, which usually lasts for 1 to 1 ½ hour. This entire ceremony involves the spreading of ashes, traditional circling the site, and sounding the ship’s bell. You may choose to bring some loose flowers to set adrift during the ceremony.

Private Charters

A private charter means you have chartered the entire boat for your own private trip and may bring up to six guests. Unfortunately, US Coast Guard regulations do not allow any more than six customers aboard this vessel.

Full Day Exclusive (8 hours) – $1750.00
3/4 Day Exclusive (6 hours) – $1500.00
1/2 Day Exclusive (4 hours) – $1250.00

Shared Charters

Shared charters are for those with usually one or two persons in their party and allows you to purchase individual seat(s) on the boat. The remaining seats will be filled by other customers for a maximum of six passengers. Note: Shared charters require a minimum of 4 passengers to run.

Full Day Shared (8 hours) – $400.00 per person
3/4 Day Shared (6 hours) – $350.00 per person
1/2 Day Shared (4 hours) – $300.00 per person

FAQ

What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and cash.

What do you require to secure a charter? What is your cancellation policy?

We charge a $300.00 deposit for each charter regardless of the hours. That deposit is fully refundable if canceled 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure.

Do you offer digital pictures if I forget my camera?

We have a camera on the boat and can forward pictures to you via email free of charge.

Do you offer a pick-up or drop-off service?

Sorry, not at present. We are based out of Kewalo Basin Harbor not far from Waikiki, and the Ala Moana Shopping Centre.

Do you have any promos?

None at present; however, we do offer gift certificates available to purchase a charter in advance for birthdays, holidays, and friends visiting the island. Charters also make great company events. We also offer a military discount.

What are your on-board services? Do you provide lunch, snacks, or drinks?

Everything is provided onboard except food and drink for the day. Alcohol is permitted, and coolers and ice are also provided. Please do not bring your own cooler since it is unnecessary.
